Sitespector

Sitespector is now defunct, but was a relatively popular desktop software application that allowed you to monitor your favorite web-sites for updates and changes automatically.

The service allowed its users to have a means for immediately getting the newest information published to a web-site, saving both time and money.

Users received only the newest information because old information was ignored through filtering.

Sitespector was offered as a desktop software application that allowed its users to monitor any number of web pages on any number of web-sites simultaneously. Because Sitespector was delivered as a desktop software application, users could fine-tune the exact time for checking web pages.

However Sitespector may have fell victim to not having a business model and the inherent disadvantages of desktop software applications which are becoming more and more apparent with the rise of cloud computing services.

The sitespector.com domain name changed hands to ChangeDetect on October 7, 2009.
