New Media for Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Here is a list of new media inspired by the wikipedia:

  • Mashup (web application hybrid)
  • Internet Art
  • Video games
  • virtual worlds
  • CD-ROMs
  • Software
  • Web sites including brochureware
  • blogs
  • wikis
  • Email and attachments
  • Electronic kiosks
  • Interactive television
  • Mobile devices
  • Podcasting
  • Hypertext fiction
  • Graphical User Interfaces

We would add “social media” sites like digg, myspace, facebook to the list.

If you are a super creative SEO master with Jedi-like skills, then the above list is in your range of targets to conquer for mastering your listings with search engines (i.e. Search Engine Optimization). From there you can map a path to your pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

However most “average joe” webmasters would only consider websites, blogs and podcasting as new media options.

Of the list, no mater what your SEO skills, blogs are probably the most important. And sites like with no advertising are destined for authority status with all rights and priviledges.

More on this later, if you ask nicely. ;)

All the best.
